At South Western Railway, following our recent transfer to public ownership, as well as the rollout of our new Arterio trains (which maximises fleet capacity across the network), we’re taking the opportunity to refresh our current timetable. This will be the first major refresh on our network in over 20 years, and to deliver it successfully, we’ve set up a fully integrated team with colleagues from across the rail industry. The timetable refresh will seek to strike the right balance between enhanced connectivity in our communities, additional services and capacity, improved train performance on the network and increased economic value for the taxpayer.
We will begin engaging with relevant colleagues and stakeholders as we design the new timetable in early 2026, before launching a full public consultation at the end of the year.
